On top of the world (or so it seemed).

As a parting gesture to Edinburgh, before we left we climbed to the very summit of Arthur’s Seat. Arthur’s Seat forms the very pinnacle of a group of hills called the Hollyroods. Although only 251 mts above sea level, it does indeed rise directly up, 251 metres from the ground, in some places at angles approaching 60 degrees. The climbing is very tough (particularly if, like us, you take the non-tourist route by mistake). However, the views are worth every muscle strain, and every gasping breath. Enjoy these photos, they do nothing to capture the real majesty of the vistas.

This point marks the border between Scotland and England.
